Our story
How Speedy Sticks started
Speedy Sticks was founded by Daniel Buitrago after he identified a gap that most people in healthcare had learned to accept as normal: patients who needed lab work done were being forced to travel to crowded patient service centers, wait without any clear timeline, and then still have to coordinate results with their provider afterward. For elderly patients, those managing chronic conditions, and anyone with a demanding schedule, that process was a consistent barrier to getting care done.
The original premise was straightforward — a certified phlebotomist should be able to come to you, follow the same collection protocols as a walk-in lab, and route your specimen to the same processing facility without adding any friction to the clinical workflow. What started as a local service in a single market quickly expanded as demand made clear that the problem was national in scale, not regional.
Today Speedy Sticks operates across all 50 states, supporting individual patients, primary care and specialty practices, clinical research organizations, and employer wellness programs. The network has grown, but the founding principle has not changed: getting your blood drawn should not require you to rearrange your day.
