For employers, HR teams & employees
Biometric Screening for Employers and Employees
Build the biometric screening your program actually needs. Employers choose a custom lab panel from any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu, with vitals, glucose, and a lipid panel as the common core. Speedy Sticks runs the screening on-site or at home. Our certified phlebotomists take vitals and collect a venous blood sample that goes to a reference lab, so results are lab-grade, not fingerstick estimates. Lab orders are arranged nationwide through our partner provider group, so you don't need your own physician order.

What's included in an employee biometric screening
Every program starts from a common core: vitals taken by our phlebotomist (in the office or at home), plus a lipid panel and glucose or A1c from a venous draw sent to a reference lab. From there, you build your own panel: add any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu to the same draw.
| Common core | How it's collected | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Height, weight & BMI | Taken by our phlebotomist, in the office or at home | BMI calculated from measured height and weight |
| Blood pressure | Taken by our phlebotomist, in the office or at home | Seated, resting reading |
| Waist circumference | Measured by our phlebotomist | Optional, if your program scores it |
| Lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides) | Venous blood draw → reference lab | Fasting may be required; we follow your program's rules |
| Glucose | Venous blood draw → reference lab | Fasting glucose requires an 8+ hour fast |
| Hemoglobin A1c | Same venous draw → reference lab | No fasting required |
Build your panel: popular add-ons from the same draw (no second stick). These are examples; any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu can be added.
- Hemoglobin A1c
- Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Thyroid (TSH)
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin B12
- PSA
- Nicotine/cotinine
- Other venous lab tests on the Labcorp or Quest menu
We collect for and send samples to the lab your program uses, including Labcorp, Quest, and Sonora Quest.
A biometric screening is a risk snapshot, not a diagnosis. Employees should review results with their own clinician.
A lab-grade biometric blood test: venous draw, not fingerstick
Many screening programs use a fingerstick and a portable analyzer at the event. That works for a quick “know your numbers” reading, but it limits what you can test and how results compare with an employee's regular lab work.
Speedy Sticks uses venipuncture only. One standard venous draw goes to a reference laboratory, so:
- Every participant gets lab-run results for the panel you choose, from the standard lipid panel and glucose to a broader custom panel, using the same lab methods their doctor would use.
- You can add any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu, such as A1c, CMP, CBC, TSH, vitamin D, PSA, or cotinine, without a second collection.
- Results are reported by the lab, not by a portable device.

The trade-off: lab results typically take 5–7 days instead of minutes at the event.
Lab orders arranged for you
Lab work needs an order, and many employers stall here because they don't have a physician to sign one. Lab orders are arranged nationwide through our partner provider group. Speedy Sticks doesn't write the orders itself: you tell us what your plan or wellness program requires, and the orders for your screening panel are in place before screening day.
Our partner provider group handles clinical follow-up on results.
If your wellness vendor or carrier already issues its own requisitions or screening forms, we collect against those instead.
Onsite biometric screening: how it works for HR and benefits teams
- 1
Tell us your requirements
Headcount, locations, remote staff, the measures and lab tests you want in your panel, and your deadline.
- 2
We set up the screening
We confirm the panel, lab orders are arranged through our partner provider group, and we coordinate scheduling with your team.
- 3
Screening day
Employees check in and give consent. Our phlebotomist takes vitals (height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, and waist if your program scores it) and one venous blood sample. Plan on about 15 minutes per person on average.
- 4
Lab processing
Samples are packaged and sent to the reference laboratory.

Results and reporting
Results typically take 5–7 days. With each employee's signed HIPAA authorization, your team receives the results and reports your program needs.

Planning: there's no minimum group size. Share your dates and locations and we'll plan staffing for your event.
Biometric screening near me: on-site events and at-home visits
On-site events
Best for offices, plants, and campuses. We staff phlebotomists to your headcount and schedule and can run multiple sites as one program.
At-home visits
Best for remote and field employees, and for anyone whose insurance requires a screening. Our phlebotomist comes to the employee's home on their schedule, takes BMI and blood pressure, and does the venous draw.

Many employers combine the two: an on-site event for the main office and home visits for everyone else. See all employer programs.
Results and employee privacy
Biometric results are protected health information. Each employee receives their own results, and our partner provider group handles clinical follow-up. Employers receive the results and reports their program needs only with each employee's signed HIPAA authorization: a HIPAA release from every participant is required.
A business associate agreement (BAA) is required and is signed with the employer or plan before screening begins.
Participation in workplace wellness screening should be voluntary, and federal rules (ADA, GINA, and HIPAA wellness program rules) limit incentives and how screening data can be used. Talk to your benefits counsel about plan design. See our privacy policy and safety standards.
Biometric screening cost
Pricing depends on the tests ordered, your group size, the days and hours you need, and whether screenings happen in the office or at home. There's no minimum group size. Request a quote and we'll price your program.
Nationwide coverage
Speedy Sticks provides biometric screening nationwide, from a single headquarters office to satellite locations and fully remote teams, with one contact and one process. Speedy Sticks is a nationwide mobile phlebotomy provider headquartered in New York, NY.

Biometric screening FAQs
- What is included in an employee biometric screening?
- Whatever your program needs. The common core is height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, and often waist circumference, plus a lipid panel and glucose from a venous blood draw. From there, employers build their own panel from any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu; popular examples include hemoglobin A1c, CMP, CBC, thyroid (TSH), vitamin D, PSA, and nicotine/cotinine.
- Can we choose our own lab tests?
- Yes. You build your own panel. Employers can choose any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu, and we collect everything with one venous draw and send the samples to the lab your program uses. Glucose, a lipid panel, and vitals are the common starting point, not the limit. Lab orders are arranged nationwide through our partner provider group.
- What is a biometric blood test?
- The biometric blood test is the lab portion of the screening. Most programs start with a lipid panel and glucose, often with A1c, and many add more: employers can build a custom panel from any test on the Labcorp or Quest menu. Speedy Sticks collects it with a standard venous draw and sends the sample to a reference laboratory, so results come from the same lab methods a doctor's office would use.
- Do you use fingerstick or a venous blood draw?
- Venous only. Every blood sample is a standard venipuncture draw sent to a reference laboratory. We don't use fingerstick or point-of-care analyzers, so results are lab-grade and extra tests can be added without a second stick.
- Do we need our own physician to order the lab work?
- No. Lab orders are arranged nationwide through our partner provider group; Speedy Sticks doesn't write the orders itself. Our partner provider group also handles clinical follow-up on results. If your wellness vendor or carrier issues its own requisitions or screening forms, we can collect against those instead.
- How does onsite biometric screening work?
- You share your headcount, locations, required measures, and deadline. We confirm the panel, lab orders are arranged through our partner provider group, and we staff phlebotomists to your schedule. On screening day, our phlebotomist takes each employee's vitals, including BMI and blood pressure, and one venous blood sample, which goes to a reference lab. Each screening takes about 15 minutes per person on average, and there's no minimum group size.
- My insurance requires a biometric screening. Can I book one myself?
- Yes. Book a visit and our phlebotomist comes to your home or office to take your BMI and blood pressure and do the venous draw. Have your plan's or wellness program's screening form or lab requirements ready when you book so we collect exactly what your program needs.
- Is there biometric screening near me?
- Speedy Sticks provides biometric screening nationwide. Employers can host an on-site event, and individual employees can book a visit at home or at work, so you don't need to find a screening site nearby.
- How much does a biometric screening cost?
- Biometric screening cost depends on the tests ordered, your group size, the days and hours you need, and whether screenings happen in the office or at home. Request a quote and we'll price your program.
- Do employees need to fast before a biometric screening?
- It depends on the tests in your panel. Fasting glucose and some lipid programs require an 8–12 hour fast (water is fine). A1c doesn't require fasting. Follow the prep instructions from your program, and fasting events are best scheduled in the morning.Fasting for blood workLipid panel: fasting vs. non-fasting
- When are results available, and does the employer see them?
- Results typically take 5–7 days. Our partner provider group handles clinical follow-up on results. With each employee's signed HIPAA authorization, employers receive the results and reports their program needs; a signed HIPAA release from each employee is required before anything is shared with the employer.
- How do remote employees complete their screening?
- Our phlebotomist visits them at home, anywhere we operate nationwide, takes BMI and blood pressure, and does the venous draw, so remote and field employees take part in the same program as the on-site event.
- Is there a minimum group size?
- No. There's no minimum group size, so you can screen a small team or a large workforce.
- Is employee data protected under HIPAA?
- Yes. Screening results are protected health information. A business associate agreement (BAA) is required and is signed with the employer or plan, and employers receive results only with each employee's signed HIPAA authorization.
- How do we book an onsite biometric screening event?
- Send us your headcount, locations, required tests, and target dates through the employer inquiry form, or call 347-292-9570. We'll come back with a screening plan and a quote.
