   Before the visit

   Prep

   • Genova knows of no interfering medications. Don't change medications unless your provider says so. ^[G1]
   • Drink no more than six 8-ounce glasses of fluid in the 24 hours before collection. ^[G1]
   • Abnormal kidney function or diuretics may affect results. Don't collect if there is blood in the urine, including menstrual blood. ^[G1]
   • Premenopausal women checking ovulation: collect on days 19 to 25 of the cycle. Peri or postmenopausal women and men can collect any day. ^[G1]
   • On hormone therapy, take the dose after collecting unless told otherwise. Many clinicians test 8 to 12 hours after a dose. Synthetic, non-bioidentical hormones aren't detected. ^[G1]

   Collection

   Collect

   • Write your date of birth and the collection date on the labels and attach them to the tubes. ^[G1]
   • Collect your first morning urine in a clean container (a large plastic cup works well). If you urinate during the night within 6 hours of your usual wake time, collect it too, refrigerate it, and combine it with the morning urine. ^[G1]
   • Stir, then pipette into both tubes until nearly full. Recap tightly and shake. ^[G1]

   Right after collection

   Processing

   • Freeze the tubes and pad in the biohazard bag for at least 24 hours. Freeze the brick at least 8 hours. ^[G1]

   Get it to the lab

   Shipping

   • Put the frozen freezer brick and the biohazard bag with frozen tubes in the insulated pack or foam insulator, then in the box. ^[G1]
   • Enter the collection date at gdx.net/activate (or gdx.net/mygdx) to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. ^[G1]
   • Close the box, place it in the FedEx bag, and ship Monday to Friday, avoiding US holidays. ^[G1]
