Overview

About this kit

Genova Diagnostics is a specialty lab that ships collection packs to providers and patients. Tests are activated at gdx.net/activate. [G1]

Oxidative Stress 2.0 in first morning urine. [G1]

The process

Step by step

  1. 1

    Before the visit

    Prep

    • Freeze the freezer brick at least 8 hours. [G1]
    • Drink no more than six 8-ounce glasses of fluid in the 24 hours before collection. [G1]
    • Abnormal kidney function or diuretics may affect results. Don't collect if there is blood in the urine, including menstrual blood. [G1]
  2. 2

    Collection

    Collect

    • Write your date of birth and the collection date on the labels and attach them to the tubes. [G1]
    • Collect your first morning urine in a clean container (a large plastic cup works well). If you urinate during the night within 6 hours of your usual wake time, collect it too, refrigerate it, and combine it with the morning urine. [G1]
    • Pipette urine into the clear-top transfer tube. Recap tightly and shake. [G1]
  3. 3

    Right after collection

    Processing

    • Freeze in the biohazard bag for at least 2 hours. [G1]
  4. 4

    Get it to the lab

    • Close the box, place it in the FedEx bag, and ship Monday to Friday, avoiding US holidays. [G1]
