About this kit

The process
Step by step

Before the visit
Prep
- Wait at least 4 weeks after a colonoscopy or barium enema. [G1]
- If you took antibiotics, antiparasitics or antifungals, wait at least 14 days (28 may be preferred after antibiotics). [G1]
- For an H. pylori add-on, stopping PPIs, antibiotics and bismuth 14 days before is recommended. [G1]
- Unless your physician says otherwise, stop aspirin and NSAIDs, rectal suppositories, enemas, activated charcoal, bismuth, betaine HCl, digestive enzymes, antacids, laxatives, mineral oil, castor oil and bentonite clay 2 days before. [G1]
- Don't collect during active bleeding from hemorrhoids or menstruation. Discuss medications with your physician. [G1]

Collection
Collect
- Some tubes contain a poisonous liquid under pressure. Keep them away from children and open caps slowly under a cloth. [G1]
- Wear the glove and collect stool in the tray. Don't let urine or toilet water touch it. [G1]
- Put 3 level scoops (6 for liquid stool) from different areas into the green-top tube. Mix, cap tightly, and shake 30 seconds. [G1]
- Fill the orange, pink and clear-top tubes to the fill lines the same way. [G1]
- For the small swab tube, twist the swab tip in the stool until coated (don't scoop), mash it against the tube, break the stick at the notch, and cap it. [G1]
- For the white-top swab, lightly touch the round end to the stool (only a small discoloration is needed), then click it shut in its tube. [G1]

- Refrigerate the tubes in the biohazard bag until shipping. Do not freeze. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Confirm every tube has your date of birth and collection date. Put the biohazard bag in the box. [G1]
- At gdx.net/activate, enter the final collection date and stool consistency to get a confirmation code. Write it on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Seal the box in the FedEx bag and drop it at an authorized FedEx location. Ship Monday to Friday and avoid US holidays. Return within 24 hours of the final collection. [G1]

No. Speedy Sticks only does venipuncture. You collect this kit yourself.
What if I see a worm?
Put it in a clean glass jar with rubbing alcohol, write WORM on it, and return it with the kit. [G1]
