About this kit
Genova Diagnostics is a specialty lab that ships collection packs to providers and patients. Tests are activated at gdx.net/activate. [G1]
DetoxiGenomic #5001, Methylation Genomics #3542, and single SNPs such as COMT, SOD2, GSTM1, GSTP1, TNFA, VDR, MTHFR and APO E. [G1]
The process
Step by step

Before the visit
Prep
- The night before, brush and floss as usual but no mouthwash. [G1]
- In the morning: don't eat, brush, floss, use mouthwash, chew gum, or use tobacco or coffee. Water only. Wash your hands with soap right before. [G1]

Collection
Collect
- Label the envelope with your date of birth and the collection date. [G1]
- Don't touch the cotton tip. Scrape the inside of the cheek firmly with one swab for at least 30 seconds, rotating it and swabbing between cheek and gums. Avoid excess saliva. [G1]
- Repeat with the second swab. [G1]
- Air dry 15 to 20 minutes, return the swabs to their package, and seal it in the paper envelope. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Put the biohazard bag with your samples in the box. [G1]
- Enter the collection date at gdx.net/activate (or gdx.net/mygdx) to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Close the box, place it in the FedEx bag, and ship Monday to Friday, avoiding US holidays. [G1]
