About this kit

The process
Step by step

Before the visit
Prep
- Ask your provider about stopping medications and supplements 4 days before. [G1]
- For EMFA, fast overnight. Water is okay. [G1]
- 2
Collection
Collect
- Label the card with your date of birth and collection date. [G1]
- Wash your hands with warm water for at least 20 seconds and dry them. [G1]
- To improve circulation, hold your hand below heart level, massage the middle finger 30 seconds, then shake your fingers. [G1]
- Clean the fingertip with the alcohol pad and press the lancet firmly against the side of the fingertip. [G1]
- Touch each drop to a circle without smearing or touching the card, until it soaks to the border. Fill every circle, using another finger if needed. [G1]
- Air dry the card 24 hours, then place it in the biohazard bag with the silica pack. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Put the biohazard bag with your samples in the box. [G1]
- Enter the collection date at gdx.net/activate (or gdx.net/mygdx) to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Close the box, place it in the FedEx bag, and ship Monday to Friday, avoiding US holidays. [G1]

Does Speedy Sticks do fingerstick collection?
No. Speedy Sticks only does venipuncture. We don't do capillary, fingerstick or self-collection.
Is there a blood draw version?

Do I fast?
