About this kit

The process
Step by step
- 1
Before the visit
Prep
- Fast at least 12 hours overnight. Water is okay. [G1]
- Avoid exercise for at least 24 hours before. [G1]
- Some clinicians stop non-essential supplements 4 days before. Ask yours. [G1]

The draw
Draw
- Clean the skin with isopropyl alcohol. [G1]
- Draw 2 SSTs. [G1]
- 3
Right after collection
Processing
- Finish within 45 minutes. [G1]
- Clot 15 min, spin 15 min at 3000 RPM, move the serum to the 2 transfer tubes, then freeze. [G1]
- Return within 24 hours. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Label every tube with the patient's date of birth and the collection date. [G1]
- Put the frozen freezer brick and the biohazard bag(s) with the tubes inside the foam insulator. [G1]
- Enter the collection date at gdx.net/mygdx to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Seal the box in the FedEx bag and drop it at an authorized FedEx location. Ship Monday to Friday and avoid US holidays. [G1]
