Step by step

Before the visit
Prep
- Genova knows of no interfering medications. Stopping any is at the physician's discretion. [G1]

The draw
Draw
- Clean the skin with isopropyl alcohol. [G1]
- Draw 2 SST tubes. [G1]
- 3
Right after collection
Processing
- Clot 15 min, spin 15 min at 3000 RPM, and move the serum to the transfer tubes. [G1]
- Freeze right away in the bubble wrap bag, for at least 2 hours before shipping. [G1]
- The lab must receive it within 48 hours. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Label every tube with the patient's date of birth and the collection date. [G1]
- Put the frozen freezer brick and the biohazard bag(s) with the tubes inside the foam insulator. [G1]
- Enter the collection date at gdx.net/mygdx to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Seal the box in the FedEx bag and drop it at an authorized FedEx location. Ship Monday to Friday and avoid US holidays. [G1]
