The process
Step by step

Before the visit
Prep
- Fast overnight. Water is okay. [G1]
- Medications may affect results. Stopping them is at the physician's discretion. [G1]

The draw
Draw
- Clean the skin thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and use only stainless steel needles. [G1]
- Draw the blue-top trace mineral tube. [G1]
- 3
Right after collection
Processing
- Finish within 45 minutes. [G1]
- Invert 10 to 15 times, then refrigerate. No spin. [G1]

Get it to the lab
Shipping
- Label every tube with the patient's date of birth and the collection date. [G1]
- Put the biohazard bag with the tubes in the box. [G1]
- Enter the collection date at gdx.net/mygdx to get a confirmation code. Write it and the date on the activation card and put the card in the box. [G1]
- Seal the box in the FedEx bag and drop it at an authorized FedEx location. Ship Monday to Friday and avoid US holidays. [G1]
